Coronation Champion certificate and medal

Our charity co founder Sue received her very special Coronation Champion certificate and medal signed by Their Majesties The King and The Queen Consort.

Sue is one of 500 volunteers from across the UK who have been recognised by their Majesties for their outstanding voluntary contributions to their communities.

As Sue often says Cavy Corner wouldn't exist without volunteers however Sue is the glue that holds everything together. She organises and coordinates everything that happens here at the rescue, supports and trains new volunteers, takes helpline calls, arranges adoptions, cares for the guinea pigs and many more tasks.

Sue is passionate about promoting high standards of welfare for guinea pigs. As a rescue we see far too much cruelty and neglect towards guinea pigs and it's so lovely that guinea pigs, an often less thought about species, have also been recognised.

All of us volunteers couldn't be more proud that Sue has been recognised individually for the amazing and very hard work she has done caring for the thousands of guinea pigs that have arrived at Cavy Corner over the last 15 years and we know Winston would be so proud of her and that his legacy has carried on saving many more guinea pig lives.
