How you can help…
We know adopting a pet isn’t right for everyone but there are many other ways to help.
Cavy Corner Guinea Sanctuary is self funding and we gratefully welcome donations of money, items or your time to volunteer and appreciate your support of our events and fundraising activities. Sponsoring a guinea, making a standing order or Easy Fundraising and Pets at Home VIP club are great ways to help too.
Items we ALWAYS need:
Bottle Brushes, Hand Sanitizer
Hay based Treats and Toys
New items we can raffle or use on our Tombola
Kitchen Rolls & Puppy Pads,
Money donations help to pay vets bills and buy fresh daily vegetables for the guineas in our care.
Cavy Corner is 100% volunteer run – no one is paid. The team of dedicated volunteers spans all ages and includes people from all walks of life. Volunteers help with everything from guinea care and cage cleaning to washing water bottles, fundraising, assisting at events and attending educational visits.
Our young volunteers gain skills that will help them later in life including teamworking, communicating with members of the public and responsibility and confidence. Cavy Corner is a happy place for people and piggies. We don’t insist people commit to a set number of hours or days and understand that to be successful Volunteering has to fit around other commitments.
Currently we have vacanices for adult volunteers to assist with forthcoming public events. Please contact us for more information or informal chat.
What some of the Volunteers say:
“I’ve improved my teamwork skills and really enjoy the satisfaction that comes after everyone’s sorted the guineas out”
“I love it and you learn a lot, you also get to know likeminded people”
“I volunteer as often as I can because guineas have a huge place in my heart – I’ve learnt a lot I didn’t know”
“Volunteering gave me practical experience and good references that helped me get a job”
” Cavy Corner is my happy place”
